From our base above a beautiful beach lined
peninsula near Granite Point the paddling and hiking options are
endless. If the seas are flat we can spend our day kayaking around
the remote, uninhabited Outpost and Fairmont islands, or paddle
along the sea cave lined south side of Glacier Island with Stellar
Sea-Lions and Tufted and Horned Puffins. If the seas are not so
calm, Granite and Cedar Bays offer miles of phenomenal protected
shoreline paddling, crystal clear water, and hundreds of hiking
options. A mellow day at camp can be spent fishing from shore,
birdwatching, or scanning the channel between the mainland and
Glacier Island for the Humpback whales and Dall’s Porpoise
that like to cruise the deep waters there.
