Relax at camp and watch the parade of giant
icebergs float past on their way out to sea as they ride the currents
away from the massive Columbia Glacier. A day can be spent paddling
and hiking our way amongst the ice closer to the icy giant, and
exploring the newly unveiled Columbia Bay. A shorter day paddle
to Granite Cove to view the ice formations there and the sheer
cliffs that line the bay is also an excellent way to spend a day.
Take a day trip to Billy’s hole in Long Bay to view one of
the area’s salmon runsand the complex ecosystem based on
it. This is also an excellent place to spot black bears and river
otters. If time allows, and the tides are right, make the crossing
over to Glacier Island and check out the skookumchuck wave at the
mouth of Eagle Bay Lagoon.
